1/4(x-3)=3x-11/4x-3

[Distribute 1/4(x-3)]

1/4x-3/4=3x-11/4x-3

(combine like terms [3x-11/4x])

1/4x-3/4=1/4x-3

-1/4x.       -1/4x

-3/4=-3

+3.    +3

9/4 (2.25) is the answer
