Tam thinking of two numbers. The first number is 1 more
than twice the second number.
The sum of the two numbers is 25.
What are my two numbers?

Answer:

First number is x

Second number is y

x = 2y + 1

x + y = 25

(2y + 1) + y = 25

3y = 24

y=24/3

y = 8

x = 2(8) + 1
